Pediatric IV Access Simulator (Ages 3–6)
The ProxSIMity Pediatric IV Access Simulator is designed specifically for learners practicing vascular access on children ages 3 to 6, where vessel elasticity, small diameter, and patient positioning differ significantly from adult procedures.
Built with anatomically accurate pediatric vessels and soft-tissue structures, the simulator delivers realistic needle insertion feel, flashback response, and catheter advancement. The model includes a dorsal hand IV site and forearm veins sized appropriately for early-childhood anatomy. The arm geometry reflects a 3–6-year-old limb profile, allowing trainees to practice pediatric stabilization techniques, limb positioning, and taping methods used in real clinical settings.
The internal vein network supports passive or syringe-driven flow to generate controlled flashback. Integrated quick-connect ports allow effortless filling, draining, and cleanup.
For programs requiring enhanced realism, the model is fully compatible with the ProxSIMity Blood Circulation Unit (BCU), enabling optional continuous or pulsatile flow.

How to maintain it?
Our Arterial/Venipucture models can be used on their own or with our blood supply unit to provide immediate blood drwaback. Switch between different patients/conditions simply by replacing the the top of the hand/arm, they easily slide into place. We recommend to use non organic blood pigments(food colouring), clean, and dry the models after every use, this will prevent any smell from stale water in the simulated blood vessels.
